Writing: Student Journalism, By-Lines, Viewpoints, & Research

“If you want to change the world, pick up your pen and write.”

- Martin Luther

Writing is one of the most creative outlets I have come to admire and hone throughout my formal and professional background.

Writing began in the summer of 2017 at Howard University’s Multicultural Media Academy. Sponsored by the Dow Jones Foundation, the program exposed me to journalism and its impact on transforming the socio-economic and cultural development of communities—and on the nation at large.

In Fall 2024, I volunteered as a contributing writer to The College of Wooster’s student-led newspaper, The Wooster Voice. Reporting on the issues facing the college campus and Wooster community, and I shared opinion pieces on news, culture, politics, and more.

Writing is one of the few tools that expresses creativity while implementing change.
